I wish to mark a point of contention with my friend Jena. While I trust her opinion wholeheartedly, I must say that low-calorie frozen yogurt may be closer to my heart than my own dog (and I love my dog), so I consider it a personal point of expertise. This is why I felt I had to step in to share the U.E.S. fro-yo secret: Sedutto. CONT'D

Who would have thought that my new favorite fro-yo spot would be from my hometown? I'm talking about Phileo, the Philadelphia yogurt chain that moved into what used to be Yogurtland on Bleecker Street. Like Yogurtland before it, Phileo sells their goods by the ounce. What's unique about Phileo is the flavors: ranging from fruity to almost savory, the options actually taste like their namesakes. From a self-serve yogurt bar, I sampled a red velvet that tasted freakishly identical to red velvet cake (plus made my mouth bright red), as well as a cookies and cream reminiscent of a Dairy Queen blizzard (and we all know how delicious that is). Sprinkle on some toppings — the bar has all of your fruit, candy, and chocolate needs covered — and you're good to go. If only we could get Philly to bring some of their soft pretzels our way, we'd be golden.

Around the corner from where I work (and a ten minute walk from Shake Shack) is brgr. While I would normally prefer a superior burger in exchange for a slight commute, I don't have much time to spare for lunch — they're working me hard at Morpheus— and the non-stop raining puts a literal damper on things. Immediacy is key.
Let me preface this review by saying that I'm not usually a burger-for-lunch person; I don't like to feel weighed down midday. But one day last week, feeling a little hungover and unusually hungry, I was craving a sloppy, delicious, burger. So I decided to try brgr (pronounced burger). CONT'D

Like many authentic Chinese restaurants in Philadelphia’s Chinatown, Sang Kee Peking Duck House does not pride itself on aesthetics. The most decorative touches are the meats hanging up right when you walk in. But the bare-bones decor isn't a problem. The delicious, Hong Kong-styled food needs no distraction. CONT'D

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
