I’m back from hiatus after a dinner at Café Boulud — because there’s nothing like some white tablecloths to get a girl in the mood…for food writing.
A word to our gentleman readers: do not take a girl here on a date. Unless you are already retired, have taken to wearing sweater vests, and your lady friend has helmet hair and a Chanel purse that debuted in 1986, you will feel out of place.
A word to our foodie readers: If you like good food — the type where things come in towers and there are elaborate swirls of sauce spiraling outwards from a pristinely-plated dish — Boulud’s is where it’s at. But you already knew that.

NEIGHBORHOOD: Upper East Side

As a child, there were certain places your parents take you for a treat. Maybe you won the spelling bee, maybe you placed second. Maybe you placed 5th out of seven competitors (who knew “beginning” had two n’s in the middle in fourth grade?!) Still, for Upper East Side middle-schoolers, the spot was definitely Yura on the bright corner of 92nd and Madison. Even though I am now an official “adult,” the spot is still a delight to visit and a joy to eat at. READ ON....

I wish to mark a point of contention with my friend Jena. While I trust her opinion wholeheartedly, I must say that low-calorie frozen yogurt may be closer to my heart than my own dog (and I love my dog), so I consider it a personal point of expertise. This is why I felt I had to step in to share the U.E.S. fro-yo secret: Sedutto. CONT'D

Ever dream of eating Robert Pattinson's head? Look no further than Eleni's New York bakery.
Eleni's cookies are nice to look at. They're packaged well— chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, ginger snappy, and choco-toffee arrive in their own cylindrical containers within a geometric cardboard box. Other treats, like the seasonal gingerbread cookies are sugary works of art. Orange, red and yellow sprinkles cling to leaf shapes in the "Fall Foliage" gift box.
But the themed cookies don't end there. Easter, Halloween, and Thanksgiving cookies are easily overshadowed by the more unique sets of Fashion cookies (Lacoste t-shirt cookies) and Oscar Season cookies (cartoon versions of Micky Rourke and Brad Pitt heads). It's also possible to design your own cookies for business, weddings, and party favors.

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
