Arts and Crafts: Billboard Magazine Wrapping Paper and Bow
December 18, 2009

It's holiday season, which means freezing weather, a mass NYC exodus, and lots and lots of shopping. In preparation for all the gift-giving, we blasted through a Rag and Bone sample sale, perused a limited selection of CDs at Best Buy and racked up a tab at Jacques Torres. My last stop was Rite Aide, in search of wrapping paper. I wanted something secular, for both my Jewish and Christian celebrators, but my choices were limited to baby Jesus, Santa, and Rudolph. There wasn't a single non-denominational paper or even a funky solid colored alternative. (Law suit?) Frustrated, I decided to forgo wrapping paper all together and figure out a homegrown solution. Luckily, Seth had a growing stack of old Billboard Magazines, which, with their extra-large size, were perfect for wrapping up a collection of CD's I purchased. CONT'D

Savoir Adore's Apple Roasted Chicken
RECIPE
December 17, 2009

We've been playing Savoir Adore's newest record, In the Wooded Forest, over and over again. The album is almost as addictive as these Red Hot Blue Chips. The sound is a mix of 80's inspired indie-pop, with unashamed nods to the The Smiths and MGMT. The band will be playing a pre-holiday party at Cameo this Friday, December 18th. To go along with the holiday cheer... Savoir Adore shared a secret family recipe with us. The apple roasted chicken dinner is simple and seasonal. Give it a go.
Savoir Adore's Apple Roasted Chicken
Ingredients
Butter
1 Vidalia Onion
1 Apple
Salt, Pepper, Thyme

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
