Chairlift and The Bloodsugars at Kid Rockers!
LAST DAY'S SHOW
February 15, 2009
Chairlift performing "Bruises" without a drum machine. (An anonymous tot pulled it out mid song.)
Welcome to Kid Rockers, a monthly event that takes place during the day where the average guest is four years old. These kids don't care what you're wearing, how Pitchfork rates you, or what semi-famous music exec is lurking in the crowd, they just want to be entertained.

Tally Hall + Wheat + Seth Kallen @ Union Hall, 12.12.09
LAST NIGHT'S SHOW
February 13, 2009
NEIGHBORHOOD: Park Slope
We forgot to mention, when not cooking, sometimes Seth and Frankie play in a band together. Last night they opened for Wheat and Tally Hall at Union Hall as part of BAM's Sounds Like Brooklyn Festival. Highlights of the night include Ross Federman (gray tie) singing Buddy Holly's "Everyday," an impromptu photo shoot in the bathroom (see below), and multiple people who know Seth strictly as a manager commenting, "Hey you actually sounded pretty good!" Check out Seth's music here... and Tally Hall's here. And Wheat's here.

Yoni Wolf of Why?
INTERVIEW
February 8, 2009

Jena sat down with Yoni Wolf, lead singer of Why?, to find out what drove him to give up bagels and lox, and what being vegan means for a touring musician...
What made you decide to be vegan? When?
I turned vegetarian when I was 17 on a bet. I turned vegan when I was 20 after a stint working on a farm in Andalusia. I met some preachy vegans there and then my friend paid me a visit fresh from the Israeli army, where he had turned vegan. Once I started to think about what I was eating and the processes that took place to get it to my plate, I could no longer mouth it.
What's on Why?s rider in terms of food and drink?

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
