A menu honoring the meatball where nothing exceeds $9? Yes and yes. It took us a while to brave the lines at Meatball Shop; the average wait is two hours and an inside source confirmed that two hours is actually the maximum time sentence the hosts are allowed to assign, meaning its often longer than that. Wowza. CONT'D
But when it comes to restaurants worth an insane wait (see Vinegar Hill House, Ippudo, Motorino), Meatball Shop is our new favorite. It all starts with the meatball, which comes in five delicious varieties. I'm partial to the spicy pork, which is extremely flavorful and not too spicy for weaklings like me. There are six sauce options which include a classic tomato and the more adventurous mushroom gravy, and both kick ass. You can get your balls in a bun, with some pasta, or over creamy, freshly milled polenta (I'm obsessed with the latter). There are also slides, heros, and smashes — think sloppy joes with meatballs. No matter which combo you check off (and you literally check them off with a dry erase marker), we promise you'll be happy. And that's not all. Save room for dessert, because the homemade cookies and gelato sandwiches eat your lousy old Chipwich for breakfast.
** If you don't want to eat 2+ hours from checking in, it pays to eat senior citizen style (or suburban Jew style) and grab a table at 5 pm. Or else just get it to go.

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
