Top Chef Episode Two: Thoughtless Cooks and Twisted Judges
RECAP
June 24, 2010

I don't know about this season of Top Chef. After I accidentally got addicted to the last few episodes of Top Chef Masters — Susur Lee has to be one of the most entertaining people on reality TV — I'm finding the lack of talent and thoughtfulness by this new group to be pretty darn frustrating. With one of the simplest challenges possible — make lunch at a local elementary school — this bunch shocked me with their results. Who makes a sherry braised chicken for an elementary school lunch? Same goes for adding two pounds of sugar to banana pudding and forgetting to include a vegetable. My twenty year old brother knows better than that and the most he does in the kitchen is microwave a bowl of mac 'n cheese. CONT'D
Aside from the complete lack of prudence, what bothered us the most about this episode were the judges. They clearly stated that Angelo/Kenny/Ed/Tracey's team was the worst. (The plate did not have a vegetable and Kenny made the embarrassing mistake of referring to a tomato as one.) We interpreted this to mean someone form their team was to go home. And yet it was Jacqueline, on the other team, who was sent home. It's obvious to us that the judges or the producers or whoever really determines the next Top Chef wanted to keep Kenny and Ed on the show and casually ignore the rules. And something about that just doesn't taste right.

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.

I liked when Jacqueline creepily whispered "Chooooocolate"
