A few months back I wrote a less than glowing review of BRGR. That disastrous meal was enough to make me give up burgers at lunch time for the next few months. Enough time has passed, however, that I'm willing to give ground-meat another go. After hearing good things from a reliable food consort, I decided to try New York Burger Co. There are two NY Burger locations in Manhattan, and you can rest assured that the quality of meat and bun at this chain far surpasses that of BRGR. CONT'D
A cheeseburger will set you back $7 and it comes on a soft brioche roll with your choice of cheese, plum tomatoes and fresh romaine — a hell of a step up from BRGR's whole-wheat Pepperidge farm buns. There's also a grilled chicken option, veggie burger, turkey burger, and a slew of beef and cheese varieties (double patties, bacon, grilled onions, blue cheese). The place is clean and well-organized, manned by friendly staff. The only downside are the fries, which are thick and soft, lacking the necessary crunch.

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
