RECAP: YAH's 1 Year Anniversary Party
RECAP
January 24, 2010

Throwing a party always makes me nervous. What if people don't come? What if the 200 whoopie pies I carried around the city all day go uneaten? What if the projector doesn't work? What if the DJ doesn't show? (Planned DJ Cale Parks actually didn't, but luckily we had Derek Davies to fill in.) My fears quickly subsided when the doors opened at 10 pm, and within minuted the room was jam-packed with friends, musicians, artists, and foodies. By 10:20 pm, the pizza from Jim Lahey's Co. was devoured. The desserts lasted a little longer. We introduced hundreds of people to the genius of One Girl Cookies' Whoopie Pies — "The most amazing thing I have ever eaten," said one — and everyone loved the mini-cupcakes from Cupcake Stop. CONT'D
And who can hate on chips and salsa? Brooklyn Salsa showed off their newly bottled salsas, which will be sold in stores come spring. Around 11:30 pm Jukebox the Ghost and Jenny Owen Youngs performed a rocking set to a sugar-rushed crowd, followed by Shervin and Seth's heartfelt speech. Pictures, below.

Internet is written with the capital letter in a sentence, by the way. And hundredths are written not with a point but with a comma. This is according to the standard. And actually everything is very good!!!

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
