Char No. 4 is known for their whiskey. With over three hundred varieties, we wish you good luck in choosing the right one. On top of the whiskey, immediately upon entering the narrow, dimly lit space you will be overwhelmed by the smell of smokey BBQ, an aura that most closely resembles a heavy campfire and lingers on your clothes way after the night ends. As for the food, much of the menu is focused on house smoked and cured meats like pork nuggets, thickly cut bacon and lamb pastrami. The buttery meats are packed with flavor, especially when dunked in Char No. 4's original sauces...
This summer, Wednesday nights means BBQ. For $22 get yourself a plate loaded with meat (variations of spare ribs, chicken, pork, brisket and beef links) and two sides (like beans and slaw) as well as one draft beer and glass of whiskey. If seating is available, eat in the new outdoor space in the back. With wood slated floors and matching walls the vibe resembles a sauna, and provides an equally serene experience-- minus the sweating.

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.
