My friend Liza and I stopped by Waterfalls Café on a weeknight at seven and were the only people in the restaurant. What bothered me more than being the sole customers was the temperature of the place. It was about 35 degrees outside and definitely colder indoors, leading me to conclude that the heat was not on. To cope with the chill, I wore my jacket and scarf while eating, trying to avoid colliding with humos. The restaurant décor is not very welcoming; an excessive amount of grandma lamps dangle from the ceiling, the woman at the cash register is constantly answering and then slamming down the phone, and the food is rather unappetizingly displayed in
Tupperware-like containers behind a glass counter. Despite the vibe, the food was rather good. Liza and I split the vegetarian special for two, which included falafel, babghanouj, humos, tabouleh, cauliflower, feta, grape leaves wraps, and mouhamarab. The pita was warm, the feta was creamy, and the grape leave wraps were moist and flavorful. In the future, I’ll order out.

I personally know that Jena could feel cold in a rainforest environment at a zoo, and that Liza could not be a more pleasant dining companion, but I agree that if the restaurant did not even have the decency and class to use real Tupperware, instead resorting to "Tupperware-like containers," that a boycott may indeed be in order. But this reader is desperate to know why it is called "Waterfalls Café" -- is there, in fact, a cataract on premises?

It`s really useful! Looking through the Internet you can mostly observe watered down information, something like bla bla bla, but not here to my deep surprise. It makes me happy..!!

About Us
We are young (early 20's) and hungry (for knowledge! music! art! food!) friends living on (or in areas which border) Manhattan. We moved to the city seeking higher education, and an alternative to frat parties and gin buckets. We prefer a bottle of Chianti to a keg, lunches at City Bakery to a dining hall, Joe's to Starbucks, Frankie's Amatriciana to Batali's. Our uniting factor is our love for food. For detailed, personal information, keep reading.

I think waterfalls is a very good restaurant and the decor is not that bad. I personally think that Jena did not write enough about how good the food is. FYI go on weekends not weekdays!
